REGULATIONS FOR GOOD LUCK BEIJING 2007 INTERNATIONAL BADMINTON INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

7. Competition Rules and regulations

Good Luck Beijing 2007 International Badminton Invitational Tournament will be conducted in accordance with the latest BWF rules and regulations and the 21-point rally point scoring system will be adopted.

Knock-out system will be used in each of the 5 events to decide the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places (with bronze medal play-off).

The number of places in the draw for each event is as follows:

Men’s Singles: 38 places

Women’s Singles: 38 places

Men’s Doubles: 16 pairs

Women’s Doubles: 16 pairs

Mixed Doubles: 16 pairs

8. Participation

8.1 Athletes

The OC will issue invitation letters to Associations from where the athletes are invited. With confirmation from relative Associations within the required deadline, athletes will be allowed to participate in the tournament.

The vacancies in each event will be taken by Chinese athletes.

In principle, athletes may only participate in the event(s) which they have been invited to enter.

8.2.Technical Officials

BWF will nominate 1 Referee, 1 Tournament Coordinator, 6 International Umpires and 10 International Line Judges. Chinese Badminton Association will nominate the rest of Technical Officials.

8.3 Entry

Invited associations should send completed invitational tournament sport entry form to the OC or the Contact person no later than Jul. 13, 2007 via email or fax. Late submissions will not be accepted. To ensure the arrangements for your visa, accommodation and airport transit, please complete ALL the blanks in the forms.

9. Accreditation

9.1 All Applicants of Good Luck Beijing 2007 International Badminton Invitational Tournament must go through the accreditation procedures and be accredited. The accreditation will be started no later than sixty days before the Tournament.

9.2 All the contents of accreditation have already been included into the Visa/Accreditation Application. The associations of invited athletes should fill out the forms and return the completed forms to the Organizing Committee of Good Luck Beijing 2007 International Badminton Invitational Tournament before the deadline.

9.3 The associations of invited athletes must ensure that the data in the Visa/Accreditation Application are complete and correct, and return the completed forms to the Organizing Committee before the deadline. Any false or incomplete data will directly hinder the visa check and accreditation procedure of relevant applicants. The Organizing Committee will not take any responsibility for delay in the accreditation due to incorrectly-completed forms.

9.4 To receive better and more efficient services from the Organizing Committee, the associations of invited athletes are recommended to designate their contact persons for sports entry also for accreditation to communicate with the Organizing Committee for accreditation issues.

10.Expenses

10.1 Athletes and Team Officials

10.1.1 Food and Accommodation

Invited athletes and team officials shall cover the expenses for food and accommodation by themselves (See Hotel Reservation Form for details). The following two hotels will be available:

a. He’nan Plaza (4-star)

Distance/ Travel time:

Competition Venue: 3 km / 8 min

Airport: 31 km / 40 min

b. Yong’an Hotel (3-star)

Distance/ Travel time:

Competition Venue: 10 km / 20 min

Airport: 24 km / 25 min

10.1.2 Travel Expenses

Invited athletes and team officials shall cover their own travel expenses.

10.2 Technical Officials

10.2.1 Food and Accommodation

Technical Officials (ITOs, NTOs & Line Judges) will stay at He’nan Plaza. Full board and accommodation fees for Technical Officials from Oct. 8 to 14, 2007 will be paid by the Organizing Committee.

Those who arrive earlier or later than the agreed duration shall pay for their extra accommodation by themselves.

10.2.2 Travel Expenses

International Line Judges shall cover their own travel expenses. The Organizing Committee will offer economic class return air tickets for all other Technical Officials from their resident city to and from Beijing.

10.2.3 Allowance

From Oct. 9 to 14, 2007, the Organizing Committee will provide US$ 50 per day per person for BWF Officials and ITOs and RMB 100 Yuan per day per person for International Line Judges and NTOs.

10.3 Extra Officials & Staff

Extra officials and staff shall apply before entry deadline and the Organizing Committee will charge for the services offered. Two hotels will be available (See Hotel Reservation Form for details).

11. Transportation

Transportation between Beijing International Airport and the Tournament Hotels will be provided by the Organizing Committee on registration day and departure day for all accredited persons.

From Oct. 8 to 14, 2007, transportation will be provided by the OC between the Tournament Hotels and the competition venue and training venues for all accredited persons.

See Appendix V.

13. Medical Care

Medical care will be provided during the tournament.

14. Doping Control

A doping control station will be set up at the competition venue and all participating athletes will be subject to testing.

Doping control includes pre-match examination and after-match examination. Examination of ranking, target and random will be applied.

The procedures of doping control will be conducted according to the World Anti-Doping Code and attested by ISO 9001/2000.

15. Awards

Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each event.

16. Competition Equipment

YONEX will be the supplier for court mats, posts, nets, shuttlecocks and stringing services.

17. Uniforms

The uniforms of athletes, coaches and team officials shall comply with the regulation of the OC and BWF.

Deadline for invited associations to confirm by Sport Entry Form (Appendix I) the participation of invited players/pairs and submit the names and relevant information of the participants. Late submission will not be accepted.

OC issues the official invitation letters for visa to relevant associations.

Deadline for invited associations to send Hotel Reservation Forms (Appendix II) to OC to make hotel reservations and remit 50% of the accommodation fee to the designated bank account (see Appendix II Hotel Reservation Form).

Draw. BWF World Ranking Lists to be issued on 6 Sept, 2007 will be used to decide the seeds in each event.
