Bao beats Xie 2-0 to advance to semifinals

(Beijing, October 12) The men's singles quarterfinals of the Good Luck Beijing 2007 International Badminton Invitational Tournament were staged this morning. As a result of a match, No. 2 seed Bao Chunlai beat Xie Xin 2-0 (21-8, 21-17) to advance to the semifinals first.

As an all-round player, Pao had achieved outstanding results in both singles and doubles events, such as the runner-up and third placer of World Championships and the gold medalist of two Sudirman Cup Team Badminton Championships. He is technical all-round and experienced and currently ranks 5th in the world. However, Xie is also a player with huge potential, although yet to be tempered, he has shown great strength is this tournament.
